Tracy B., Detroit, MI (February 2019): "I haven't heard from Ms. Ilar yet. However, we met with Ted tonight and the first session was great. We'll be meeting with him this Saturday. Once again thank you. Also thanks for the online resources. I'll let you know when he's ready to use online."

Sister Beverly, Ann Arbor, MI (December 2018): "As far as the math retake test, I will give it to him some time on Wednesday.  He passed the quiz that was given today--he scored in the 70s.  He will still need to retake the fraction/mixed number addition and subtraction test. Thank you.  I think with your support, he will be much more functional next quarter, though I wish he would decide to be more functional in class.  I am hoping the two will come together, as he gains more confidence with his work, he will want to be more productive in school as well."

Jocelyn S., Novi, MI (December 2018): "Thank You for the referral of tutors and it was very nice meeting Mr, Freeman yesterday. He stated his background is more English, writing etc... he has to brush up on Chemistry. I believe we are good with tutors for now. Ashton's chemistry grades from last test has improved and his Dad is going to work with him, because that is his area of education. I appreciate your help and concern and I told Mr. Freeman I will keep him in mine for future references."

Chris R., Clarkston, MI (November 2018): "It was the first session and I understand Chris had to get a feel for where my daughter was at.  You can tell Chris is highly intelligent, But I am not sure he is a good fit for my daughter.  I will let you know if we want to proceed with tutoring."

Remarks from Tutor after Free Session: We went over recent algebra topics in preparation for an upcoming quiz on the 20th. Topics included putting equations into vertex form, completing squares, factoring, binomial theorem, some usage of the quadratic formula (unsure if this topic had been covered yet or not), imaginary numbers. A few problems from the book were examined in detail and/or completed during the hour. The session ended with a few pieces of test-taking advice, largely from personal experience.

Jo-anne M., Park Ridge, IL (August 2018): "Thank you but we are looking at someone to come to our home"

Mrs. MK, Northville, MI (August 2018): "Alicia, thank you for your input. I understand your point that tutors won't tell answers and Rina did not expect the straight answers. She wants to know the process and reasons for the answers which Delirisha does not provide. Rina said it took time more that one hour because going over the first question took time. It is ok if it is benefital but it sounds like Rina could figure it out by herself.  I will ask her one more time if she needs either one's help. If she needs help from Delirisha, I will scan her assignments and her (cc to you) a copy. If she needs Ted's help, I will send you a copy so that you can give it to him. (I only have his phone number)”

Remarks from Tutor after Free Session: "Started out having Rina explain to me how to do the problem, as she was explaining I noticed a level of confusion. Rina could not confidently explain the problem even after trying to show me in her textbook on how she derived at her answer. In Rina's packet, the teacher gave her a more complex problem to study from so she struggled with explaining and getting the correct answer. So we attempted to work together to solve the problem, I asked her question such as how do you know it this answer, not this one and so on. Rina did struggle with the understanding of derivative intervals (first and second), identifying the concave upward and downward on the graph. I felt unprepared since I didn't have a chance to look over the material she wanted to review. To make up for my non-preparation I sent Rina mom some notes explaining derivative intervals (first and second), concave upward and downward.”

Mrs. MK, Northville, MI (July 2018): "He came in 3 min before the meeting and he seems a great tutor. As I said, only the drawback (which is most important) was that he may not be familiar with the some area of calculus. She is trying to finish her homework and wants to meet the tutor when she comes up her questions. It may be good to see another tutor toward the end of week, but I will discuss with her again. I will discuss with her when she is available. I will let you know when I make the appointment with her."

Remarks from Tutor after Free Session: We worked some first semester calculus problems, including minima and maxima, end points and derivatives. The session was held at her mother's office. Per prior discussion, the session lasted 1:15, enough time to stop at a convenient point.

Jim A., Farmington Hills, MI (February 2018): “Our daughter is a freshman at Mercy high school in Farmington Hills. We are looking for a tutor twice a week to meet with our daughter after school at Mercy and go over math, english and if possible, Latin. I know you are in-home tutors, and if worse comes to worse we could do that, but we would prefer to have the tutor meet her at the high school at 3-5pm two days a week. Wondering if this is possible? Thank you.” “Thank you but we no longer need your tutoring services.  Thank you so much.” – Shari A.
